New U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents by State of Residence per capita in 2018 - Map

1.1 million persons became Lawful Permanent Resident status in the United States in 2018. New York (6.9), Florida (6.1), New Jersey (6.1), and California (5.1) were the leading states, each hosting between 5 and 7 new LPRs per 1,000 population. Mississippi (0.6), Montana (0.5), and West Virginia (0.4) had the fewest new LPRs per capita, each with less than 0.6 new LPRs per capita.
